Rapid City Regional Hospital is Among the Best in Low Pneumonia Readmission Rates
Rapid City Regional Hospital is among the very best for low readmission rate for patients with pneumonia, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The Department of Health and Human Services measures the outcome of patient care including readmission rates of pneumonia patients within 30 days of discharge. The 30-day period is used because this is the time period when complications are most likely to be related to the care patients received in the hospital.
“I would like to commend the health care professionals who have made these remarkable scores possible,” said Dr. James Keegan, Regional Health Vice President of Quality. “Without these talented people, this high quality care would not be possible.”
