Rapid City Regional Hospital Receives PIN Grant
- RCRH and local nursing schools awarded a $500,000 grant to help prepare and retain nurses
- The grant is from Partners Investing in Nursing's Future (PIN)
- The two-year grant will fund "Prepare and Retain," a collaborative effort between RCRH, South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota
- "Prepare and Retain" will help retain nurses in the health care work-force through their career continuum.
- Approximately 100 students are anticipated to participate over three semesters per year
- Participating nursing students are matched with a RCRH nurse staff mentor to guide them through their first year of employment, making new nurses more adept at their work, and easing the transition from student to nurse
Interested nursing students should contact the SDSU West River School of Nursing at 1-888-819-1725 or USD at 605-394-5398.
