Excellent RCRH Readmission Rates Recognized Nationally

Rapid City Regional Hospital is in an elite group of top-performing hospitals in heart attack patient readmission rates according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Department of Health and Human Services measures the outcome of patient care including readmission rates of heart attack patients within 30 days of discharge. The 30-day period is used because this is the time period when complications are most likely to be related to the care patients received in the hospital.

"I would like to thank all of our health care professionals who not only take excellent care of our patients while in our hospitals but also provide outstanding care in the clinics and nursing homes as well as ensuring a safe transition," said Dr. James Keegan, Regional Health Vice President of Quality.
