Regional Health Receives $6.6 Million to Enhance Intensive Care Units
Regional Health has received a $6.6 million grant from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to enhance the intensive care units at Rapid City Regional Hospital and Spearfish Regional Hospital
The grant will be used to implement an eICU Program at RCRH and SPRH, expected to go live in July 2010. It is a patient monitoring system that allows an additional team of experts to observe and evaluate critically ill patients in multiple ICUs and hospitals from a single location. The technology has the capacity to detect very early changes in the patient's condition, which allows the hospital-based team to optimize interventions to benefit the patient.
"We are extremely grateful to receive this grant from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust," said Charles E. Hart, M.D., M.S., President and CEO of Regional Health. "Through the generosity of The Helmsley Trust, we will be able to enhance the care provided for our most critically ill patients in the Black Hills."
Thank you to everyone who helped make this grant possible.
