First Year

  • 1 month Emergency Medicine
  • 4 months Family/Adult Medicine  
  • 2 months Obstetrics
  • 1 month Orthopedics
  • 2 months Pediatrics
    • NICU 
    • Inpatient at Univ. of Utah, Salt Lake City
  • 1 month Psychiatry
  • 1 month Surgery

Second Year

  • 1 month Cardiology
  • 1/2 month Community Medicine
  • 1 month Elective
  • 1 month Emergency Medicine
  • 2 months Family/Adult Medicine
  • 1 month Internal Medicine Subspecialty (resident choice)
  • 1 month Night Float
  • 1/2 month Obstetrics (block format)
  • 1 month Office Gynecology
  • 1 month Office Surgery
  • 1 month Pediatrics
    • Inpatient - Children's Hospital, Minneapolis 
  • 1 month South Dakota Rural
* Additional OB experience scheduled throughout the academic year totalling approximately 1 month.
* Second year elective cannot be out of town due to ABFM requirements.

Third Year

  • 1/4 month Anesthesiology
  • 1 month Dermatology
  • 3 1/4 months Electives
  • 1/2 month ENT
  • 1 month Family Medicine
  • 1 month Neurology
  • 1 month Night Float
  • 1/2 month Obstetrics (block format)
  • 1/2 month Ophthalmology
  • 1 month Pediatrics (Outpatient)
  • 1/2 month Radiology
  • 1 month Sports Medicine/Orthopedics
  • 1/2 month Urology
*Additional OB experience scheduled throughout the academic year totaling approximately 1 month.
*Longitudinal Critical Care training across all years of training.
*Longitudinal Practice Management totaling 100 hours across all years of training.
