Medical Radiography Program

Selection and Interview Process

Selection Process
All completed applications received by the deadline will be reviewed and receive a weighted score. Categories considered during the weighting process include, but are not limited to: grades received in prerequisite courses (science and math courses are weighted highest), previous work/volunteer/shadow experience in a medical environment; and current GPA.

The applications receiving the highest weighted scores will be offered the opportunity to interview for the MRP.

Interviews
Interviews are conducted in January/February. Interviewees will be contacted by phone or email, as well as receive an interview packet.

Following the panel interview, the candidate tours the RCRH Medical Imaging Services department with a guide. The process takes approximately two hours.

Upon completion of the interviews, the new students are selected. Candidates are notified of results in February; the program commences in June each year.

A maximum of ten students may be selected each year. Once selected to enter the MRP, a prospective student must officially accept the invitation and remit the nonrefundable tuition deposit by the designated date.

Invitations are extended on a contingency basis. All admissions requirements must be met in order to be eligible to enter the MRP.

Rapid City Regional Hospital and the Medical Radiography Program do not engage in any practice, behavior or action which is discriminatory in nature as relates to others' race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
