Regional Health to Provide Team Physician Program for SD Mines Athletics

A new partnership between Regional Health and South Dakota School of Mines & Technology will provide Hardrocker Athletics with a team physician, Josh Sole, M.D. Dr. Sole is a Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation specialist fellowship trained at John Peter Smith Health Network and Texas Christian University, the largest primary care sports medicine fellowship in the United States. Regional Health will also provide a full-time certified strength and conditioning coach, a full-time athletic trainer and a part-time athletic trainer/strength and conditioning position.

Gaudino Honored with Rapid City Regional Hospital's DAISY Award for Nurses

Jeremy Gaudino, Registered Nurse (RN), received the May DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses at Rapid City Regional Hospital (RCRH). He provides patient care in the Progressive Care Unit and has worked at RCRH for more than four years. Gaudino was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient's wife who said her husband is regularly hospitalized and Gaudino is someone anyone can count on.

Graduation festivities will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the Dahl Arts Center, 713 7th St. Daniel T. Berens, D.O.; Patrick J. Blair, D.O.; Virginia E. Hunter, D.O.; Robert A. Johnson, D.O.; Derrick J. Kuntz, M.D.; Jessica A. Ott, M.D. and Megan K. Schuckman, M.D. will receive diplomas for having completed the three-year residency program. Drs. Schuckman and Kuntz are the Chief Residents.

Regional Health Clinics Move to Provider-Based Billing for Medicare Patients

Effective June 15, Medicare patients will begin receiving two bills—one for physician services and one for facility fees.

Children's Miracle Network Champions from South Dakota Enjoy First Ambassador Tour

Two Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Champion Ambassadors, representing the state of South Dakota, have completed the first of two ambassador tours. Seven-year-old Trailin and 4-year-old Tayah Young, from Union Center, traveled to Atlanta, Ga., with their family to join Champions from other states who have personally benefited from donations from the charity. After several days in Atlanta, the Champions traveled to Washington, D.C., where they met with local representatives on Capitol Hill to help raise awareness for the charitable needs of children's hospitals.

The Star Awards, developed by RCRH's Nurse Shared Governance Council, encourage caregivers to nominate their fellow nurses for the following awards: Supporting Star, Gold Star-Service, Blazing Star-Advanced Practice, Shining Star-Community, Guiding Star-Mentor, Super Star-Expert, Rising Star-Novice, Luminary Star-Nurse Advocate, and Galaxy Star-Group. The George S. Mickelson Award-Nursing Excellence, named for former Gov. George S. Mickelson, honors a nurse each year that provides excellence in nursing.
