February Freeze 5K Fun Run/Walk Scheduled for Feb. 14

RAPID CITY, SD – To recognize National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week, Rapid City Regional Hospital's (RCRH) Cardiac Services Department will host a 5K Fun Run/Walk at noon on Sunday, Feb. 14. Race day registration will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the RCRH West Auditorium. The cost is $20 and includes this year's February Freeze long-sleeved T-shirt.

RAPID CITY, SD – The Tough Enough to Wear Pink (TETWP) campaign is celebrating 10 years of raising funds to help fight cancer. The 2016 campaign kicks off at this year's Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo starting Friday, Jan. 29. Proceeds from all TETWP sales at the Stock Show stay local and will benefit the Regional Cancer Care Institute, located at Rapid City Regional Hospital (RCRH).

RAPID CITY, SD - Laura Wightman, MSN, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, has been selected Regional Health's Chief Nursing Officer. In this new position, Wightman will oversee nursing throughout the health system. She will work closely with market presidents, physician and nursing leadership in Regional Health's hospitals, clinics, hospice, home care and senior care facilities. She will lead efforts in regard to nursing leadership development, standardization of patient care and implementation of best practices throughout the health system.

Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital Employees Donate to Local Charity

Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital Rewards and Recognition Committee employees parked cars at Kool Deadwood Nites, in August, to raise money for a local charity. On Nov. 4, they donated $370 to the Lord's Cupboard in Lead. Sharon Narem, Lord's Cupboard representative, accepted the donation. The Lord's Cupboard provides food for the less fortunate. The donation by LDRH corresponds with Regional Health's purpose of helping patients and communities live well.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Makes Donation to Benefit Critically Ill Children in Sturgis

Local contributions to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, at the Regional Health Foundation, will benefit the smallest patients at Sturgis Regional Hospital (STRH). To help physicians and caregivers enhance the quality of care for critically ill children, Sturgis Regional Hospital asked Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to purchase a medical device to help intubate infants and children. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals recently provided STRH with a $5,966.70 check to purchase the device.
