Additional Information Dr. Wesley Sufficool completed his medical school training at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. He then entered into general surgery residency training at the Flint Osteopathic Hospital in Flint, Michigan. In 1992 after completing residency, Dr. Sufficool became a staff surgeon at Fairmont Community Hospital in Fairmont, Minnesota and focused his practice on general surgery. He became interested in bariatric surgery in 1996 and has hundreds of weight loss operations including gastric bypass, adjustable gastric banding, and sleeve gastrectomy.

Dr. Sufficool has been instrumental in organizing the practice of bariatric surgery at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota. He currently serves as Medical Director of the Regional Weight Management program.
