Health Services
In order to stay at the Hospice House, you must be under the care of the Hospice of the Hills. The criteria for hospice care include being terminally ill and seeking palliative or comfort care, rather than curative care.
We offer three types of care:
Skilled Inpatient Care: This level of care addresses pain or other symptoms, such as nausea, severe confusion or a rapid decline in a condition requiring 24-hour skilled nursing care.
Five-Day Respite Stays: A five-day respite stay is available under Medicare, Medicaid, and some insurances to allow family members to take a break from furnishing 24-hour care to a family member or friend.
Residential Routine Care: At this level of care, your insurance, Medicare or Medicaid will cover the costs of the hospice care, but you are billed for a daily room and board cost--like an apartment, nursing home or assisted living center.
Residents can move from one type of care to another during their stay at the Hospice House. You and the health care power of attorney will be notified any time a change in condition requires a change in the type of stay.
