Hospice House

Since 1984, Hospice of the Hills has cared for the terminally ill. This care can take place in a person's own home, in the nursing home, in an assisted living facility or Hospice House.

Hospice House is located at 224 Elk Street in Rapid City. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Rapid City, Hospice House is conveniently located just a short walk from Rapid City Regional Hospital. To get to the Hospice House turn east from Fifth Street onto Elk Street or take a leisurely stroll from Rapid City Regional Hospital via the sidewalk located at the southeast corner of the employee parking lot.

Since opening in 2007, Hospice House has prided itself on offering care and comfort for its clients and their families. In addition to round the clock care, families will find some of the amenities of home - wireless internet, gathering room, television and video games and video and dvd players - while they are visiting a loved one.

Comfortable rooms, decks and patios

Our private rooms are 24 feet by 15 feet and have a home-like setting. Included in each room is a pull out single bed for a guest.

Each secure and private room has a deck or a patio. Low windows offer beautiful views from the pillow.

Great Room

Hospice House is pleased to have a Great Room for family gatherings to share meals and enjoy family celebrations. The Great Room is equipped with a gas fireplace, a piano and music players.

Chapel and Library

We provide ample opportunity for patients and families to peacefully reflect at Hospice House. A chapel room and library are both available day and night.

Hospice House library can assist visitors with research or just enjoying quiet office space. Wireless internet service is available throughout Hospice House.

Other Features at Hospice House

Meals are selected by menu and prepared by Rapid City Regional Hospital. Soup, sandwich or snacks are always available. Families may also use the family kitchen.
