Custer Regional Hospital

Custer Regional Hospital has an experienced staff of licensed medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians, and certified laboratory technicians who provide laboratory services to inpatients, outpatients, emergency services, home health, and hospice patients.

Notes/FAQ

• A written physician's order is required for all laboratory tests . The physician's order may be sent to the lab by your physician to fax number (605)673-5960 or you may bring the order with you.
• It is helpful if you schedule your blood draw in advance. Please call (605) 673-2229 ext. 107 to make an appointment.
• Instructions for fasting tests (such as a Lipid Panel): Take nothing by mouth after 8 p.m. the evening prior to your appointment except a small amount of water. Medications should be taken as instructed by your physician.
• Laboratory outpatients should report to our Admissions Office on arrival.
• Laboratory test results are reported to your ordering physician. Results are generally provided same day.
  
• Test Results: Most done at Custer Regional Hospital Laboratory on the same day. If the testing cannot be done at our laboratory it is sent to another Regional Health laboratory or to Mayo Medical Laboratory. Most testing sent to another laboratory will be reported within a week.
