Quality
Quality is a major part of our organization's success for the past four years. We are better than the national average scores:
- Antibiotic resistant organism rates
- Central line infection rates
Based on these successes, Rapid City Regional Hospital's Quality Team has been asked to share our processes with other hospitals and universities across the country. In the past few years, the quality team has completed 10 national presentations.
Rapid City Regional Hospital was one of 44 hospitals to participate in The Joint Commission Trial to Reduce Antimicrobial Prophylaxis Errors (TRAPE) study to measure timing of prophylactic antibiotic administration. Rapid City Regional Hospital was also one of only six hospitals to participate in The Joint Commission Attaining Safety for Patients Through Interdisciplinary Risk Reduction Efforts (ASPIRRE) program. The program identifies the best practices to improve process of care, decrease number of infections and improve patient safety.
