Welcome
to Rapid City Regional Hospital's National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week February Freeze - 5K Fun Run/Walk! Now in it's 14th year, February Freeze hosted 900 (registered) participants in 2012 and we're looking forward to a great 2013!

Registration
Race day registration:
$20
- 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in RCRH east and west auditoriums
(Limited number of t-shirts available on race day)
Shirt pick up
If you pre-registered and still need to pick up your shirt, on race day come to the cardiac rehab gym to pick up your shirt.
You can still register on race day!
We try to order enough shirts for race day, but it is always a guess, so we cannot guarantee a shirt when you register on race day.
What to expect on race day
The 5K run/walk course is out and back. The race begins on 5th Street near the ambulance bay. Runners will go 1.55 miles south on Fifth Street and return on the same course. Walkers have a new
course
this year.
Race begins at
Noon
. Some traffic control is provided near the start/finish line, but walkers and runners should remain on the sidewalk.
Where to Meet:
All runners and walkers will meet in Rapid City Regional Hospital's East and West auditoriums prior to the event. February Freeze 5K runners will start on Fifth Street near the Emergency entrance of Rapid City Regional Hospital. From there it's an out-back-course that follows 5th Street.
Parking:
We ask that February Freeze participants park in the employee parking area to keep patient parking available for Regional Health patients.
Entrances:
There are two entrances that quickly lead to the auditoriums.
What to expect pre-race:
When you reach the auditorium, help yourself to some healthy treats, coffee or water. Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow runners, hospital staff and cardiac patients.
About 10 minutes prior to the race start time, an announcement will be made and runners/walkers will head for the starting line.
After the race:
Return to the auditorium for post race snacks and prize drawings made possible by our sponsors.
It's not called February Freeze for nothing. Race day can be mild and calm or just the opposite - 2013 was a case in point at 28 degrees and 30 mph wind gusts.
Be prepared for the worst and expect the best!
