Extended Care FAQs
Do I need to have a skilled need or be homebound?
No, Extended Care services can be offered to anyone, regardless of their diagnosis or homebound status. If you need help with bathing, personal care, setting up medication or homemaker services, Extended Care may be able to help. For many elderly, disabled, or chronically ill people, this extended program provides the support and continuity needed to avoid repeated hospitalizations or other crises.
Is Extended Care covered by Medicare?
Extended care is not a service covered by Medicare, but may be paid for privately or with other programs that may be available.
Will I have the same aide I had on Home Health?
Scheduling may not always make that possible, but in most cases, your aide can stay the same.
Are nurses available?
Yes, we will have a nurse visit when there is a medical need, such as setting up medications or health monitoring. There is a different rate for these services.
