There are three units in the Intensive Care Centers.  The two units are on the 5th floor and one unit is on the second floor.
  • 5-Northeast is the Coronary ICU.  Most patient on the 5-Northeast are in the hospital for heart and lung problems. The room numbers are 501-508.  The number to the nurses’ station is (605) 719-8500.
  • 5-Southeast is called the Medical ICU. Most patients on 5-Southeast are in the hospital for many different medical issues. The room numbers are 513-519.  The number to the nurses’ station is (605) 719-8510.
  • 2-Northeast is called the Surgical ICU.  Patients on this unit may have many different surgical and trauma issues. The room numbers are 250-259. The number to the nurses’ station is (605) 719-2260.
Sometimes, patients are placed on a unit whose name does not match the reason they are in the hospital.  A patient may be placed on the unit where a bed is open.

There is a phone near the double doors that rings to the nurses’ station. Use this phone to call each time you visit to make sure your loved one is ready for visitors.

We ask that only immediate family members and significant others visit in the ICU.
