Rapid City Regional Hospital has an experienced staff of licensed medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians, and certified laboratory technicians who provide laboratory services to inpatients, outpatients, emergency services, home health, and hospice patients.

How to find us:
The laboratory at Rapid City Regional Hospital is located on the main floor of the hospital. You can use the dialysis entrance or the main entrance.

FAQs
  • Do I have to make an appointment for a blood draw? No, appointments are not necessary because we have staff available 24/7 to assist patients. Please see hours (above) for instructions.
  • Do I have to bring anything with me when I have labs drawn? 
    Yes, Patient has to have identification (picture ID), doctor's orders and insurance information.
  • How do I find out more information about the tests my physician ordered? A website that we would recommend for further explanations about laboratory tests is www.labtestsonline.org.
  • Can I have access to my test results? Yes, pending signature of a Release of Medical Information form.
  • Do I have to be fasting for lipid panels/fasting glucose? Yes. This means no coffee, tea, soda, etc. Water is ok.
  • Can I have extra labs done? For example, PSA, yearly lipid panel etc.? No, only the tests ordered by your physician.
  • I don't understand my bill. Who do I contact for help? If you have questions about your bill please call the RCRH Billing Department at 605-719-7863.
