Lactation Consultant Out-Patient Services

The Lactation Consultants are available to parents after leaving the hospital either by phone or by office visit. Frequently, a phone conversation will solve common breastfeeding issues, but occasionally a face-to-face consultation is needed.

During an office visit the lactation consultants can assist the new mother with latching the infant to the breast, weighing the infant, and assisting with the use of breast pumps and other breastfeeding tools. Office visits require a written doctor’s order.
