Diagnostic services include pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis and pulse oximetry. We also provided bronchopulmonary drainage, exercise therapy, medication administration, airway maintenance and respiratory home care arrangements.
Participation in Patient Care
Under the guidance of five Board Certified Pulmonologists, licensed respiratory therapists working in Rapid City Regional Hospital's Respiratory Care Department have an ever-expanding role in influencing and providing patient care. Staff therapists participate in the decision-making processes through the Respiratory Care Council as well as therapist driven protocols. Cooperation with other health care professionals takes place on a daily basis, along with participation in activities to promote community efforts to meet the health needs of the public.
