How to Prepare for Your Sleep Study

Please bring these items with you:

  • Completed sleep questionnaire and pre-registration form. Please call Regional Sleep Management if you have not received these materials.
  • Insurance cards
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Pajamas
    • We prefer cotton t-shirts and shorts or sweat pants
    • Please note: we monitor your sleeping habits via video camera, so you must wear pajamas

Preparing for your study:

  • Plan to stay until about 8:00-9:00 a.m. the following morning
  • Wash hair thoroughly and do not use styling products, including conditioner
  • Do not use caffeine products on test day
  • Parent or guardian must stay in the room with a minor
  • Leave valuables at home

During the study:

  • Sleep management staff will ask you to view a video about sleep apnea and the use if CPAP
  • Staff will explain CPAP procedure and let you practice with the CPAP mask and machine
  • When you are ready to sleep, staff will start the study and monitor you throughout the night
  • If you show enough events and there is time to treat you, the technician will use the CPAP machine to do so
  • We may require a second night if there was not enough sleep or CPAP treatment time

CANCELATIONS: If you need to cancel your appointment, please notify Regional Sleep Management 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. We may charge without a proper cancelation.
