Sleep Study FAQs

Why do I need all these tests?
Disrupted sleep can disturb daytime activities and may even create a physical or emotional health hazard.

How can I sleep with all that equipment attached to me?
Sleep Management personnel apply the monitoring equipment so every wire contours to your body. That means you won't notice all the equipment. It doesn't hinder body movement, either, so you may roll and turn. After a short time, you'll likely forget most of it's even there!

Do the monitoring devices hurt?
No. Generally the monitoring devices do not cause any significant discomfort.

Do I need my medications?
Yes. Please bring any daily or nightly medications with you.

Do I need an attendant?
Regional Sleep Management staff cannot provide nursing care. Therefore, if you or your family feel you are unable to care for yourself (personal hygiene, dressing, eating, etc.) during the overnight sleep study, please make arrangements to have a family member or friend stay with you during this time.
