Meet our President and CEO

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Regional Health is in a season of growth and transformation as we pursue our vision to be the best health care system in America. We have set this goal high because our patients and communities deserve no less. Our health care team consists of more than 5,000 providers and caregivers along with hundreds of independent physicians, caregivers, and contractors from across the greater Black Hills region and beyond – an empowered team committed to our purpose of helping patients and communities live well.

Living well is grounded in our culture of patient safety and quality care, and strengthened through national accreditations, awards, and industry benchmarks. Examples include national ranking among the top 5 percent of hospitals nationwide by Healthgrades as a distinguished hospital for clinical excellence, national recognition for cardiac care with three achievement awards from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, being named as one of the top hospitals in the state by U.S. News & World Report, and receiving four out of five stars as compared with our national and peer system benchmarks, based on the most recent Hospital Consumer Health Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems performance survey data.

Our significant healing environment expansions in Custer, Rapid City, and Sturgis will significantly broaden our scope of clinical services and care options for our patients right here at home. Living well starts with a community focus.  It can be as simple as caregivers volunteering to fill water coolers for 4,000 Crazy Horse Memorial Volksmarch participants, or engaging Suzie Cappa Art Center artists to paint a cheerful mural installed just beyond our chemotherapy unit windows. As a founding member of Rapid City Collective Impact, we are fully engaged in addressing the complexities of poverty, homelessness, and other social issues that afflict our neighbors by collaborating with grass roots citizens, businesses, nonprofits, government, and faith communities equally committed to improving life and living. If not now, when? If not us, who? Working together we can accomplish more.

Living well depends upon skillful hands, attitudes of excellence, and compassionate hearts. We are building a team of experienced and passionate leaders with proven executive leadership track records from highly respected systems from across America. We are celebrating and recruiting highly talented physicians and caregivers that deliver quality care and advanced treatment right here at home. This team―5,000 strong―is empowered to serve others with courage, integrity, compassion, innovation, and mutual respect. Regional Health’s vision to be the best health care system in America is both tangible and authentic. On behalf of our providers and caregivers, we invite you to see how we are fulfilling our purpose of helping patients and communities live well.

Sincerely,
